Experience the best of pool and sea swimming in Saltdean with our Saltdean Sea Swimming Experience Day, designed to help swimmers build confidence and develop essential open water swimming skills.

This open water swimming experience in Sussex is perfect for swimmers looking to transition from pool swimming to the sea while improving their front crawl technique, breathing and sea swimming confidence.

The day begins at the iconic Saltdean Lido, one of the UK’s most beautiful outdoor pools. Here our experienced coaches will lead a front crawl technique session, focusing on breathing, body position and efficiency in the water — key skills for successful open water swimming.

After the pool session, you’ll enjoy a relaxed classroom workshop covering sea swimming safety, tides, conditions and open water techniques, while enjoying a hot drink and cake.

With new skills and confidence, we’ll then head down to the beach for a guided sea swim at Saltdean, where Fiona and Beth will support you in the water as you put your open water swimming techniques into practice.

To finish the experience, warm up and relax with a sauna session — the perfect way to end a refreshing morning of sea swimming on the Sussex coast.

What the Day Includes

9:00am – Front crawl technique session at the lido
10:00am – Classroom session on sea swimming safety and open water skills (with hot drink & cake)
11:00am – Guided sea swim at Saltdean Beach
12:30pm – Sauna to finish
