To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’re delighted to offer a complimentary Introduction to Cold Water Swimming session at Aqua Sports, a great opportunity for anyone who is curious about trying cold water in a safe and supportive environment.

This guided session will help you gently experience the invigorating benefits of cold water in a calm, structured setting with 2 experienced coaches. Whether you’re looking to boost your wellbeing, build resilience, connect with like-minded women, or simply try something new, our experienced team will be with you every step of the way.

Please note: While the session itself is complimentary, attendees will need to pay the Aqua Sports water entry fee of £10.50 on arrival.

BUOY SWIM – saltdean BEACH 🌊

Join us for a refreshing late-summer swim adventure! This guided session takes you on a bay buoy swim of up to 1.5km, with a full safety briefing included. Along the way, you’ll receive expert coaching on front crawl technique, breathing, and sighting skills — perfect for sea swimmers looking to optimise stroke efficiency and build confidence in open water.
Participants must be comfortable swimming at least 200m.

Our Introduction to Open Water Swimming will give you the knowledge, skills, and reassurance you need to enjoy the water safely. In this relaxed, supportive session, you’ll learn:
Pre-swim checks – what to do before entering open water.
How to choose a safe swim spot – evaluating conditions and identifying potential hazards.
Essential kit – from wetsuits (and how to get them on and off!) to tow floats, hats, and goggles.
Acclimatisation techniques – easing yourself into cold water and managing cold water shock.
Safe entries and exits – getting in and out of the water with confidence.
Warm-up & post-swim care – looking after your body before and after your swim.
We’ll guide you step by step, so you leave not only with new skills but also with the confidence to enjoy your future swims safely.

Front crawl technique

LOCATION: SALTDEAN BEACH

PRICE: £35 PER PERSON

This session is focused on refining your stroke efficiency, body position, breathing, and timing to help you swim faster and with less effort. We’ll break down key elements of the stroke, provide individual feedback, and work through targeted drills to build better form and movement in the water.
Ideal for sea swimmers who want to improve their front crawl. Must be able to swim comfortably for 200m.

what should you bring for open water swimming sessions

Swimsuit or wetsuit (your choice!), a few swimsuit for the experience session
Towel and warm layers, changing robes are handy too if you have them
Tow float (if you have one, or we have some available)
