Sea Lanes Swim Challenge: 50 x 100m in the Brighton Sunshine

25 October 2025

There’s something special about swimming outdoors — the rhythm of the water, the open sky, and the satisfaction of testing your limits. This weekend, I took on my biggest pool challenge yet: 50 x 100 metres at Sea Lanes Brighton.

Set right on Brighton’s seafront, Sea Lanes is a 50-metre open-air pool that captures everything I love about outdoor swimming. The sea breeze drifts over the deck, the sound of waves is never far away, and there’s an incredible sense of space and energy that makes every length feel alive.

The water was a refreshing 18°C, just cool enough to keep me focused through the distance. Using an Abucas tracker — which Sea Lanes conveniently provides — I was able to log each set and keep count all the way to the final 100th length.

By the end, I’d clocked up 5,000 metres, my longest swim to date. The sun was shining, the pool glistened in the autumn light, and the sense of achievement was huge.

Sea Lanes proved to be the perfect spot for a swim challenge: supportive atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and the kind of day that reminds you exactly why you love the water.

Here’s to the next challenge — but for now, I’m soaking up that post-swim glow! 🌊✨
